
Countdown Media wanted to drive sales of its Movie and TV DVD product at a particular retailer during a specific timeframe.
To accomplish its goal, Countdown stickered the front of the said DVD product to message a ten-song giveaway “free with the purchase” of a Movie or TV DVD product during the promotional window. Countdown created a custom mini-site on Neurotic Media’s system that graphically captured the essence of the themed promotion and printed a unique PIN code on the product stickers, valid for 10 “free” credits. Neurotic Media’s PIN code generator was used for this program, allowing Countdown to create thousands of PIN codes within minutes.
The promotion achieved its primary goal of moving physical DVD product off the shelves and driving a higher percentage of product sales through retail than had been done in any other comparable window of time. Countdown was also able to capture valuable consumer data for future marketing campaigns of similar product, which was a secondary goal for this campaign. Although the retailer didn’t make their sales numbers available, Neurotic Media historically sees 30% PIN code redemption from stock sold in such campaigns.
