Leading smartphone application Tunewiki created a unique consumer experience whereby song lyrics “scroll” on the phone screen while the MP3 of that song is playing on the smartphone. The application is also coupled with community features and merchandising offers. Tunewiki wanted to weave MP3 purchasing into this consumer experience in order to capitalize on impulse music purchasing. Tunewiki needed to support the purchase opportunity with e-commerce services, which were not included in its application.
Tunewiki used Neurotic Media’s Neurolinq™ Product API to source major label and independent label MP3s. NeuroLinq™ is integrated into the Tunewiki.com online store, as well as into the Tunewiki application on various smartphone Operating Systems. Additionally, Tunewiki integrated the Neurolinq™ Checkout API, a solution that allows Tunewiki to process its customer’s financial transactions securely through Neurotic Media’s merchant banking account without having to build an e-commerce system of its own.
By using the NeuroLinq™ Product API, Tunewiki was able to maintain full control over its branding and customers’ user experience while generating additional revenue with MP3 sales. The integration of the Neurolinq™ Checkout API enabled Tunewiki to support e-commerce in a seamless manner without having to set up the systems necessary to handle financial micro-transactions internally. The solution dramatically shortened Tunewiki’s time to market and allowed them to deploy an enterprise-class solution while leveraging an economy of scale.
